Through research and my studies, I’ve also done finite element analysis of structures. Key to validating system reliability was the FEA analysis I conducted using Abaqus on truss, beam, culvert, pressure vessel structures. Working under computational constraints, I was able to utilize working knowledge of plane stress, plane strain, asymmetric elements, higher order elements, use of symmetry, to determine accuracy of results (stress, strain, displacement etc) at nodes and integration points.
